Vegetarian crock pot recipes save time and effort. It’s set and forget; a no brainer. When you get home from work, your meal is done. When you eat like this, there is an extra bonus. You will also likely lose weight and get healthier eating plant-based whole food. I eat simply and my health had improved while I lost more than forty pounds over a period of one year.
My diet is composed of fruits and vegetables, unless I transgress because of being tempted to eat the wrong processed foods. It’s monkey see, monkey do, and I fall off the wagon occasionally because of family members succumbing to their own unhealthy snack eating habits like chips, ice cream, and what not.
My Diet is composed of the following…
- Two large green salads each day
- I use a dressing made with Apple Cider Vinegar, Garlic Salt and Honey
- Fruit and Hash Browns in the morning
- Baked Potatoes
- Brown Rice
- Pinto Beans with Salsa
- Fruit throughout the day and evening hours when I get hungry; such as Banana, Mangoes, Pineapples, Strawberries, other berries, and Cantaloupe
- A few Nuts and Seeds in my Salads
- That’s it
- No, I don’t get bored with the menu
- I look forward to my meals
About using The Crock Pot
I use the crock pot as often as I can. It’s a great kitchen tool. I use it to prepare my dog’s meals, too. I am working on making food for my cats. I don’t really trust anything made that’s processed, anymore. If you want to know what’s in something, I think it best to prepare it all yourself. That way, you know what’s in it, for sure.
I have a few vegetarian recipes I have compiled, and I will add more as I go along. For example, I make my own Vegetarian Chile in my crock pot. Easy recipe. The crock pot is such a wonderful invention. It’s set and forget.
You can’t over-cook or burn anything in it unless you don’t add enough water. It’s really one of the greatest most useful kitchen appliances besides the Cuisinart food processor which chops things up for you. The whole point of all of this is training ourselves to eat real food.
After a lifetime of consuming the Standard American Diet with all the fat, salt and sugar, it’s hard to overcome that culture and change our lifestyle, but it can be done through trial and error, and a bit of willpower, over time. When you eat a whole food plant-based diet, that’s eating real food. We thrive on it as well as our pets.
