How to Eat Healthy

How to eat healthy (and lose weight at the same time) requires eating certain food. It worked for me. That’s almost all there is to it.

The rule is, you eat whole food and nothing processed. You can steam vegetables and eat them raw, but you also eat two large green salads each day and fruit for most of your carbs.

You might think a diet like this is boring and not very tasty. But, when you find things you love to eat, you will actually look forward to your meals. Your food can be spiced up the way you like it. How did I do it?

  • I gave up processed or refined food (everything that comes in a box, can, bottle or package)
  • I prepare all my meals
  • I don’t cook with oil or drizzle it on my salad
  • I eat plant based whole food
  • I don’t eat out

The Best Foods

  • Green Leafy Vegetables like Kale, Collards, Bok Choy, Arugula, Cabbage, Spinach and Romaine Lettuce including cruciferous Broccoli and Cauliflower
  • All fruits especially Berries like Strawberries, Blueberries and Blackberries
  • Beans and Lentils
  • A small Handful of Seeds or Nuts. Be careful with these. It’s easy to eat the whole bag and you don’t need to eat them every day
  • You can make your own Salad Dressings, Salsa and dips like humus. Just don’t add any oil
  • List of Alkaline and Acid Forming Foods

The Worst Foods

  • All Dairy products like Butter, Milk, Frozen Yogurt and Ice Cream
  • Meat. This goes for Chicken and Fish and anything else with two eyes and a mother. It has the bad cholesterol
  • Oils and Fats like Margarine, Shortening, Olive Oil, Canola, Palm, Corn, Fast Foods like French Fries and Trans Fats or Hydrogenated Oils, Potato Chips and fried foods. If you want to have a healthy heart, make certain you get all the added Fats and Oils completely out of your diet. You don’t need them and they are bad news for your cardiovascular system
  • Donuts, Pastries, Cookies, Pies, Cakes and the like
  • Candy and Chocolate
  • Highly Salted Food
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup and White Sugar
  • Refined Flour, be it white or whole wheat. This means no bread, tortillas and chips
  • All processed food whether it come in a bag, bottle, can or package
  • Get rid of all grains because of Gluten and Gliadin. This goes for Corn, Barley, Rye, Oats and especially Wheat no matter if it’s ground into flour or whole and intact. It’s designed for Horses, Pigs and Cattle to eat
  • Don’t ever cook with oil or drizzle it over your salad

The Worst Drinks

  • Coffee and Tea
  • Alcoholic drinks like Whiskey, Beer and Wine
  • Soda Pop
  • No bottled fruit drinks
  • Avoid Juicing Fruits and Vegetables. Use your teeth to chew your food, instead

Get these in Organic because they have too much Pesticide

  • Apples
  • Bell Peppers
  • Blueberries
  • Brown Rice
  • Celery
  • Collard Greens
  • Grapes
  • Kale
  • Lettuces
  • Nectarines
  • White Potatoes
  • Spinach
  • Strawberries

Food to Eat during the Day

  • Fruits – Most Most nutritious are all the Berries, Pomegranates, Oranges
  • Two large green salads
  • Vegetables – Most nutritious is Kale, Collards, Bok Choy, Brussel Sprouts and your Leafy Greens
  • Potatoes and Brown Rice
  • Cruciferous steamed or raw Vegetables like Broccoli
  • Beans and/or Lentils
  • Handful of Seeds or Nuts
  • Create your own Salad Dressings without Oil
  • Make your own Salsa and humus Dip
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
