Anti inflammatory foods

What are the anti inflammatory foods? There is a term called ’cause and effect’. Our actions cause things to happen, good or bad. As for health, prevention is the best ‘tool’ preventing many irreversible diseases. How we eat can either ‘heal’ us or ‘destroy’ our health.

Personally, I have experienced bouts of gout and rheumatoid arthritis through the years. How I eat will bring these conditions on. I have to watch what I eat a lot closer than when I was a teen. There are food triggers you need to avoid.

On thanksgiving, I have to watch the amount of turkey I eat, otherwise it may trigger a gout attack! It also brings symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis with achy joints and general aches and pains throughout my body. Bad news!

For example, ham is pretty much equivalent to pork. Some meat has more purines than others, like darker meat. Purines break down into uric acid. You get too much uric acid in the bloodstream.

Uric acid forms tiny crystals acting like needles in your joints. It’s extremely painful! All it takes for me to get an attack is to eat one ham sandwich! What! Amazingly powerful. I used to be able to eat all I wanted of any food on the planet! What went wrong? At some point, our bodies rebel! Not worth the agony!

If you are overweight and have gout attacks, you need to lose weight. Moderate exercise will help (you don’t have to overdo it) and regulating how much fat and calories each day is important. How one eats is essential for continued health.

You can lose weight, feel better and have more energy if you adopt a whole food plant based diet. This is anti inflammatory foods. It’s not boring and tastes good. All you need do is add spice to your food. A little salt and pepper won’t hurt, either. Be sure to contact your doctor before you change your diet. Continued.

Note- before you change your diet consult your doctor.
