Forget fad weight loss blogs for losing weight. It’s not that complicated and there is no hidden secret. You don’t have to make a big deal out of losing weight by measuring portions you eat. You can eat all the food you want, lose weight, get healthier and live longer. What’s wrong with that?
I lost almost fifty pounds and the weight is staying off. I knew I was on to something others might want to learn.
I not only lost a lot of weight, I got healthier and felt more energetic throughout the day. You may also live a lot longer simply by changing which foods you eat.
My diet is simple. I always look forward to all my meals and snacks. But, it is more a lifestyle change than it is a diet. Why? To me, it seems vegetarianism becomes a way of life. Especially, if you care about our environment and don’t want to bring harm to animals.
Did you know that dairy cows live a life of misery with their baby cows taken away from them as soon as they’re born? And, baby cows are used to make veal. Furthermore, raising cattle for meat harms the environment due green house gases and deforestation.
I got to a point in my life where I didn’t want to hurt anything in nature anymore. I started feeling that animals deserve to live a good life. Also, I also didn’t want to die from diseases like cancer, heart attack, stroke or diabetes.
The food industry has flooded us with propaganda for many years. This is how big money works. They have their lobbyists in Washington helping get our representatives elected. Then, they are beholden to them and not us.
You hear things over and over so much, lies begin to seem like they are true. You see these commercials on TV all the time. The big companies pay big bucks to the media to advertise their products. They want to sell their products and make a profit. There are outright lies, half truths and misleading statements about food.
For example, they say olive oil is healthy for us. Absolutely, not true. No refined oil is. You hear this on the talk shows all the time how good unsaturated oils are. It has also been claimed processed soy is good for us, but the opposite is true. They used to say we need milk, but we don’t. It is also claimed meat is good for you. It isn’t. Additionally, processed and refined foods are not healthy to eat, either. So, what is left to eat that is good?
Low calorie plant based whole food meals like I eat every day are health promoting. it’s also easy to prepare. In the beginning, to get started, all you have to do is think about those things that are healthy you also love eating.
For example, I love potatoes and refried beans. These are both real foods with real fiber. I do limit both because potatoes are of the nightshade variety having substances in them that may lead to leaky gut syndrome as with beans, which have lectins.
So, take some time to figure out what you really like eating that’s also good for you. I only eat about five or six things total and never get bored! Directly below are a few basic guidelines in choosing your new healthy weight loss food. Ready to lose weight, feel better and live longer? Try it for a month and watch the inches come off!
What foods to avoid like the plague…
- No animal products (no meat: especially dairy like yogurt, cheese, milk and eggs)
- Don’t use or cook with refined oil like olive oil or corn oil etc.
- There are also oils in foods you eat (crackers and cookies)
- Avoid eating processed and refined foods (bread, snack foods, frozen dinners, fast food places, etc.)
