Foods can cause aches and pains: What to eat

Weight loss is no good if you suffer from mysterious aches and pains. Food is very powerful medicine, often more than medicine itself. Pain pills can damage our organs, even causing other health issues. Pills cover up symptoms, but why not get to the cause and get rid of the misery for good?

If you stop doing what’s causing your health problem in the first place, your body will likely heal itself. I know that when I stopped eating certain foods responsible for my inflamed joints and aches and pains all over my body, and ate mainly a vegan diet the symptoms all went away in time [1].

Food sources for inflammation…

  • Sugar and high fructose corn syrup
  • Meat and processed meats
  • Trans fats, as in fried foods
  • Vegetable oils like olive oil
  • Refined carbohydrates like flour products
  • Alcohol, especially beer and grain alcohol

And, when I started eating the bad foods again, achy muscles and swollen joints returned promptly. It’s the food that can cure you, although you should not try to make your own diagnosis. Leave that to your doctor. Yet, you don’t want to have an ongoing relationship with him or her, either. You want a permanent cure to what’s been ailing you.

The overall diet is of utmost importance. You at least want to find a doctor who doesn’t laugh at holistic medicine. We want to keep our intestinal barrier strong so we don’t develop intestinal permeability. 

I got all animal products out of my diet and made sure I ate enough plant based whole foods (which tend to have lactobacilli bacteria) which help prevent a bad bacteria takeover.

Essential to my diet, and maybe yours too for best health, is eating foods very low in fat content. This means not using olive oil to cook with or drizzle on your salad. Any oil which is refined is not healthy. Oil causes inflammation.

Some grains can cause problems, such as eating wheat, rye, barley and corn. For some, corn is more detrimental than wheat.

  • Crohn’s disease
  • Diabetes (type 1)
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
  • Lupus
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Pernicious anemia
  • Psoriasis
