Hippocrates once said, ‘All disease begins in the Gut’. How can this be true? He is historically believed to be the ‘father of medicine’. That being said, there are more and more modern day medical professionals who have researched food in relation to disease.
It has been found bad food may actually cause ‘leaky gut syndrome’ whereby the gut has been compromised (intestinal permeability) and harmful substances can actually enter our bodies creating havoc throughout. This means wrong food we ingest may actually be the cause of ailments, conditions and diseases we currently suffer from.
As you and I are not scientists nor researchers, the best we can do if there is any question about it is to seek the advice of our physician.
Yet, in the meantime, it might be a good idea to take matters into our own hands learning what those culprit foods may be. We want to prevent chronic inflammation and autoimmune disease before it takes hold.
Processed and refined unhealthy foods and bad substances like tobacco, coffee and alcohol, etc. are known to be problematic. To solve this, we need to eliminate them by changing our behavior.
Our bodies can heal us if we give them half a chance. But, how do we do this? We begin by eating food which we were born to eat. Our natural diet is plant based whole food.
