How to Win Fighting Food Temptation Cravings

How do you fight cravings for food you know you shouldn’t be eating? Honestly, its sure not easy. It’s a constant struggle or battle! You, just like I will fall to temptation because of lack of support for eating healthy. It’s tradition, it’s society. We were taught how and what to eat.

Most of us eat food because it tastes good, and it tastes good because we were raised that way. You will find that if you do eat the way that’s healthiest, you will get a lot of criticism. So, be sure not to preach, and if there are those who are curious about how and what you eat, downplay it.

Believe me, save yourself some grief, as not many will understand what you are doing and why. The media has brainwashed us into eating what they have decided they want us to buy.

You don’t want to be thought of as weird and become discouraged with the healthy weight loss results you will assuredly be receiving if you stick with eating plant-based whole food for long.

There’s no escape. Most people will not understand that food is the gateway to better health and weight loss, let alone saving your life and increasing your life span on this earth…

People are very touchy about the food they choose to eat and don’t seem to care if it causes Cancer or some other disease like Diabetes. But, when they do succumb, pain might change their minds. Most of the time, we tend to leave that to our doctors to decide whether we need an operation or a new pill.

The few of us can’t subscribe to that way of thinking. I think we must be the ‘one percenter’s’. So, welcome to the one percenter club! Eating plant-based whole food takes a little willpower and discipline and we never will break all those hunger feelings for eating bad food. How does one turn down Grandma’s Thanksgiving turkey? You don’t.

But, first you need to educate yourself as to what plant-based whole food actually is at those times when you can eat right. It’s not that hard, but you can trick yourself into eating that which is not good for you. And, then there’s all the snack and junk food we were all brought up to crave! That’s a real challenge, and I don’t think you ever get over it. It’s actually made to be addictive so you will keep eating and buying it.

You just have to learn to live with everyone around you eating wrong foods all the time. You will also have to watch all those commercials on TV that try to sell it to you because all the people eating it have happy faces!

In the long run though, we will not be happy when all that kind of bad food does is destroy our health and send us into the operating room. So, how does one overcome all the unhealthy eating? Answer: It’s an ongoing discipline and you will fall off the healthy food eating wagon. We are basically on our own if we want to lose permanent weight, feel better, get healthier and live longer.

Solution: Don’t shop hungry. Don’t buy it, then you won’t eat it. Yet, there is no total answer, as life is so full of all kinds of temptations, not just food. We simply have to learn to not listen to the commercials and the prevailing voices of the world out there and think for ourselves and hopefully overcome all our food addictions under our own direction. It is a lifetime challenge because eating differently is a lifestyle change in itself.
