I thought I’d write a page about Staying with a Healthy Diet in a World full of Bad Food Temptation. I still have my moments when I slip back to the old ways of eating. Your mind plays tricks on your stomach and vice versa when you get those all too familiar unhealthy food or snack cravings.
Remember, that when you crave something salty, you most likely need to eat vegetables because you are lacking in minerals. If you have a sweet tooth, train yourself to eat fruit instead of something with refined sugar like a soda. I think this is the body’s way of telling you that you lack vitamins and minerals. This is my theory.
So, what’s the workaround to all this? In my opinion, one must have healthy food around and wholesome snacks. Furthermore, one must rid his cupboards and refrigerator of all the bad stuff. It has to be thrown in the trash or donated, for if it’s there it most likely will be eaten when the dark cloud of wrong food temptation descends upon us.

Don’t forget I fall to temptation, too. But, I believe it’s harder for my wife because she hasn’t fully embraced eating solely plant based whole foods. I eat simply so I don’t suffer from bouts of inflammation. I know that our healthy future depends upon eating mostly fruits and vegetables, cooked and not.
For example, late at night if I get the cravings for the bad refined carbs, I make sure I eat fruit or a bowl of warm brown rice with a little (real) maple syrup on top (try whole fruit spread made with 100% fruit, no added sugar or high-fructose corn syrup and no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors.) My wife complains there is ‘nothing to eat’ around here.
What that means is there’s no junk and snack foods like candy, chips, cookies and ice cream. If it’s here, I will eat it too. I know this for a fact. I’m tempted by bad food just like the other guy. Go to vegetarian recipes, here.
