Why being Trim and Fit is related to Health and Longevity

I don’t know if you have noticed it or not, but there aren’t many really old people who are obese and still alive. I have watched YouTube videos about those who have lived past 100 years old to learn their secrets of a happy, healthy long life.

Here’s my article right, here. But, to repeat everything would be redundant. It would be better to read it instead, as I have learned some interesting things. To my surprise, they don’t eat perfect at all. And, everyone as far as I can remember is not overweight. Many seemed to eat things I used to eat that caused me weight gain and health problems. They tend to have their favorite vices like smoking cigars, drinking coffee and eating chocolate!

But, one thing stands out clearly, and that is they appeared to be positive and independent thinkers, amicable, sociable and generally friendly toward others. These are traits not to forget as I believe are essential to everyone’s health and longevity.

Additionally, you might want to take a look at this video about 103 year old Dr. Ellsworth Wareham.  Last time I checked, he was still alive and doing fine. He is a retired heart surgeon who practiced I think until age 97, a seventh day Adventist, vegetarian and appears to adhere to a strict low cholesterol diet. He has seen first hand on the operating table what damage animal products can do to our cardiovascular system.

To conclude, health and longevity varies from individual to individual. So, just eating plant based whole food alone may or may not make you live to 100 and beyond. I am sure genetics plays an important role, but I don’t believe we are doomed to succumb to a certain ailment, condition or disease just because it runs in our families.

Yet, it has been proven eating a plant based whole food diet can trim us down, make us healthier and live longer like others throughout the world who do the same. Family, friends and our continued happiness in general is something which may play as important a role in health and longevity as a healthy diet.
