Low Calorie Foods that can ‘Speed Up’ Weight Loss

Who doesn’t want to take a magic pill and wake up the next day and be healthy for life and body beautiful? No one I know. But, unfortunately, that pill doesn’t exist. And, if it did, it wouldn’t be safe. Because the only safe way I know of to lose weight is the slow way by changing what we eat.

Basically, everything I eat is low calorie except for the nuts, seeds and avocados. But, fat is higher calorie than carbs are. So, you have to limit the high fat foods, even if they do contain the healthy fats.

You don’t eat all you want of them or you will gain weight. The fat you eat is definitely the fat you are gonna wear. You only need healthy fats in small doses.

Is eating higher fat foods heart healthy? It depends upon who you ask. But, if you have doubts about your cardiovascular health, I would limit the fat, not increase it. Again, don’t believe me, consult your doctor.

‘It is a common belief that raising your metabolism helps you burn more calories and increase weight loss. Unfortunately, there are more myths about boosting metabolism than tactics that work. Some myths can backfire. If you think you are burning more calories than you actually are, you could end up eating more than you should [1 medlineplus.gov/ency/patientinstructions/000893.htm]’.

When I cut out chips, tortillas, cold cereal and bread the weight came off steadily. These were the culprits which kept me stuck. Too many refined carbs can and do pack on the pounds. Personally, I could eat bags and bags of cookies, chips and about every kind of junk and snack food on the planet.

But, that’s what froze me at 185 lbs. down from 210+. Fruits, vegetables, brown rice, beans and potatoes are real food with the healthy fiber. To lose weight, we need to eat fiber filled foods. And, these foods are most often low calorie.

Therefore, if you avoid the refined carbs and processed foods, there is no reason why you shouldn’t lose weight unless you have a medical condition.

In the meantime, find out your BMI. This reveals what your healthy weight should be. You don’t eat less to lose weight, you eat more of certain foods (plant based whole food) and of course, stay physically active to some degree.
