Going Vegetarian for 1 Week: Is Losing Weight and Getting Healthier For You?

Whether we think so or not, life actually is one big experiment. And, it seems to me at least that by the time you ‘get it’ you are old and gray like me and can’t do anything about it. You only get one stab at life and can’t replay it to undo all the mistakes you made.

But, you can change some things about your lifestyle, like changing what foods you eat. Once you are convinced becoming a vegetarian or vegan is the way to go, you simply repeat those things you eat that will bring permanent weight loss, better health and longer life. We want to find a way to prevent a long stay in a hospital room. So, how do we prevent it?

‘A vegetarian diet focuses on plants for food. These include fruits, vegetables, dried beans and peas, grains, seeds and nuts [1 medlineplus.gov/vegetariandiet.html]’.

What do you have to lose?

  •  You lose weight
  •  You feel healthier
  •  You will likely live longer
  •  You learn how to become cancer, diabetes and stroke proof

‘It’s been proven eating more fruits and vegetables has saved lives. When I began eating the right healthy foods, I lost weight and my health kept getting better and better’ ~ your author

For example, my blood pressure went way down to 100/60. I lost fifty pounds and weigh my high school weight. And, I love the food I am eating always eating as much as I want.

Yes, I am tempted to go back to the bad old ways in the good old days. But, this is usually holidays and birthdays. Once you eat healthy and reap the results, you don’t want to ever go back to the way things were unless you are a pain lover. So, why not see if your doctor thinks you should try being a vegetarian or vegan for a week as a test. What do you have to lose?
