I pan fry my hash browns without oil in a ‘no stick’ coated pan. I didn’t realize you could actually make hash browns and cut up potatoes have a crusty coating cooking with no oil. But, you can. Living without oil to fry your food isn’t hard doing. Just don’t buy it at the store anymore. Do we exchange our good health for food which tastes good, but isn’t health promoting?
Fried foods are very popular all around the world. They give you that taste and crunch we all love. But, do we have any excuses when we know better? Oh, where would we all be without our deep fried french fries and chicken? Believe it or not, life gets even better with no oil.
‘US FDA in 2015 finalized its decision that T-fat is not safe and set a three-year time limit for complete removal of T-fat from all foods [1 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27215959]’.
You get the crunch baking your french fries, and if you just have to have your chicken, fry it in a pan without oil or throw it on the BBQ. Commercialized fried food usually has trans fats, is high calorie and its use is associated with increased risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

It is said that frying with coconut oil, olive oil and avocado oil is healthier than cooking with oils like Canola oil, Cottonseed oil, Corn oil, Sesame oil, Soybean oil, Sunflower oil, and Safflower oil.

Through my own research, I have found using any oil, even if drizzled on top a healthy green salad does not bring good health. To be safe, don’t use it. Oils are empty calorie with no vitamins, minerals and fiber. I don’t use it and would never recommend its use to anyone.
