I never had it diagnosed, but I have had bouts of Rheumatoid Arthritis. It would be called Inflammatory Arthritis. My site started out primarily as a weight loss site. But, I lost the weight and wanted to get healthier, too.
‘So, I found that the healthier I got being a Vegan eating a majority of plant based whole food, the more sensitive I became to unhealthful food. Red flags of pain would emerge’ ~ your author
Parts of my body get inflamed once in a while. I get generalized pain throughout my body and in joints and especially in one of my feet. Sometimes, I have to take one of the more popular aspirin based headache pain pills.
I get off tract, and think back as to what could possibly be causing the problem and I find it hard to detect, because I could be eating a few things, not just a single culprit…
‘Corn and potato chips were causing me pain because of corn, canola, sunflower and safflower oil. These, I really loved. But, oil does inflame…’ ~ your author
Autoimmune diseases like Arthritis is where the body produces antibodies and attacks itself. No organ is immune. Not the liver, heart, even the brain itself. Wow! Does this mean your moods can change and you might not be thinking right? Could be…
I am one who does not want to go to the doctor with every single ache and pain, though all too many people do. So, I look to food as a cure. And, fortunately, it has been proven to do so.
‘Through my own experience, I have learned that a low fat Vegan diet will cure my condition. But, when I slip up, symptoms reappear. This I can guarantee’ ~ your author
So, what I do is try to stick to a completely Vegan diet with absolutely no animal products, with unrefined starchy foods like potatoes and brown rice, vegetables like steamed broccoli and fruits like berries, and absolutely no refined vegetable oils like corn, canola, olive oil and any others.
‘I also don’t eat soy products like the fake meats, even tofu because you don’t need it, and a gluten free diet (no wheat, barley, rye, oats, etc.)’ ~ your author
Your body needs time to eliminate what’s causing the problem, be it from the blood stream, bowls and joints, etc.. Some things take days, weeks, even months to clear out after you determine what the bad food is and stop eating it.
‘Effects of a very low-fat, vegan diet in subjects with rheumatoid arthritis. CONCLUSION:
This study showed that patients with moderate-to-severe RA, who switch to a very low-fat, vegan diet can experience significant reductions in RA symptoms [1 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11890437?dopt=Abstract]’.
I was never on medication, but you might be. So, work with your doctor on this one. And, that single bowl of oily food you eat might cost you a emergency visit to your doctor because of painful inflammation!
