I think I’ve probably written a million and one pages about gluten and lectin. At least, it feels like it. I know this is a weight loss site, but in addition, it has evolved into a health and longevity site since I lost my 50 pounds. And, I really feel if you eat the way I do, you will lose all the unwanted weight you desire.
I feel that changing the way one eats will undoubtedly help in shedding unneeded pounds. I did it and I believe you can lose weight the healthiest way, eating plant based whole food. It is basically low in calories and high in fiber. Did you know that fiber is a very important nutrient? Guess what our FDA says…

If that’s not enough, when we eat bags of nuts and seeds and numerous avocadoes each week, we will likely gain even more weight. You know, that many vegetarians and vegans are either overweight or underweight. Why?

Bags of chips and sodas qualify as vegetarian food. Furthermore, when you cook all your vegetarian meals with lots of cooking oil (yes, also olive oil) it can not only pack on the pounds, but be unhealthful to your cardiovascular system.
Many so called health experts, doctors and authorities do agree about not using refined oil. Yet, there’s a few who say pour on the olive oil with impunity. But, in my own experience, I believe refined oils are inflammatory and can actually cause a leaky gut. They have found something in common with those who have rheumatoid arthritis. They also may have leaky gut syndrome.
‘I don’t believe you can do anything about weakening gluten (which is also a lectin) in wheat except not to eat it. As for lectins in other plant based food, you can pressure cook potatoes, rice, nightshade vegetables like peppers and tomatoes and beans to lower its potency’ ~ your author
As an experiment, I was adding a little olive oil to cooking my potatoes in the morning because this certain doctor said lots and lots of olive oil was good for you. Yes, it makes food taste better, but is it worth potentially damaging your circulatory system and heart in the long run? I stopped it.
