Increased Happiness And Health In Stressful Times By Activity And Relaxation

Me and my wife have been retired for some time now. But, there is something stressfully new. It’s that virus thing. Furthermore, if you are older than 65 you are higher risk.

‘Don’t take this lightly, for there are those who are much younger who catch the virus and don’t end up doing so well…’

If you are older like me, you must take extra precautions. Additionally, if you don’t currently have a job you quickly get out of the ‘mix’ of normal everyday working. You don’t want to just sit on the couch and watch TV all day turning into a depressed ‘zombie’.

I will tell you what I do to cope in these stressful times. Since no one seems to know when this pandemic will dissipate, we must find our own way to stay mentally, physically and emotionally healthy.

‘If you are self-isolated such as my wife and I, you need to do things that make you happy. For example, I write posts for both my websites, have chores and ongoing projects around the house I do, watch YouTube®, feed and watch my bird and squirrel friends on my rear patio, work out, play with and pet my kitties, cook and eat healthy food, meditate, and make sure I don’t expose myself to needless negativities…’

I make sure I don’t watch nightly news. Overwhelmingly, negative. We don’t have the luxury of a negative thought. Negativity pollutes our minds! Don’t let it in…

Obviously, I type because I am a writer. In my humble opinion, it takes a little thought to write in a way that makes what I say clear. I do my research citing pages and posts in a way I think appropriate.

‘I got a model bird house from my step-daughter for father’s day to assemble. Very thoughtful of her. Hobbies are a positive thing…’

I meditate occasionally. I have been doing so for many years and thought it useful to create a way sharing it so anyone could learn and use it quickly.

You might want to understand how to meditate doing so on a semi-regular basis. It might help to relax and make you feel better.

Coincidentally, those who want to make meditation complicated also want to charge you money to learn it. I say you don’t need them. Save your ‘hard earned’ money. Don’t hire a ‘guru’, become your own council. Here’s the easiest way I know of to meditate free, here.

This only takes about 10 seconds. Don’t we all have at least 10 seconds to spare? Sure we do, and costs nothing, so why not? Our world changes because of a ‘peaceful’ state of mind.

My wife used the 10 second meditation technique the other day and said it works good. It’s now wife approved!
