The ‘2’ Major Things I Did Making Me Feel Young And Healthy (Like In My Twenties)

Recently, I wondered why I have been feeling so good. I have good strength, endurance, my mind is sharp, and basically there’s nothing wrong with me I can see. From time to time I have had aches and pains and suffered from RA symptoms, but they have disappeared.

Why is this so? Yet, at the same time, coincidently, I have become a total ‘teetotaler’. Would this have anything to do with me feeling so young and vibrant?

‘Drinking too much – on a single occasion or over time – can take a serious toll on your health [1]’.

There’s a lady who has a WordPress site and is a positive inspiration to many of us. At 70 years old, she says she feels like she’s in her twenties. I wondered why, and came upon one of her posts. You don’t hear many our age saying they feel good. You might want to drop by and visit Suzie’s Opinions.

‘Drinking alcohol can damage the brain, heart, liver, pancreas, cause various cancers, weakening ones immune system making one more susceptible to disease and infection [2]’.

One thing I limit is drinking alcohol. I have heard it’s OK drinking a glass of wine, one beer or shot of hard liquor. But, I don’t say it’s health-giving. When young you don’t think about future consequences.

I have a construction background, and those building trade guys most often are care free easy going types, of which I must be an exception to that rule. But, for most it’s an easy come easy go attitude. Not all are drinkers and smokers of course, but for those who are, they eventually pay a price in midlife and beyond.

Reasons I Feel So Young And Healthy @ 69 Years Old…

  1. I limit alcohol
  2. Don’t drink coffee
  3. I eat 80-90% plant based whole food
  4. I don’t eat sweets
  5. No animal products or meat (where do I get my protein? Glad you asked: Beans and lentils)
  6. No eggs or dairy
  7. I drink a green smoothie
  8. I drink Japanese green tea
  9. I limit EVOO to no more than 2 tablespoons a day

I am not sure if there’s an upside to drinking alcohol. So, I limit alcohol because of my age.

I buy a bag of small limes squeezing one in a very large glass of refrigerator filtered water. I often have a huge bowl of hot air popped corn with a little EVOO drizzled, salted and mixed together Saturday nights.
