Why ‘Low Glycemic’ Foods Are Healthiest

I try to ‘stick with’ eating the lower glycemic fruits and vegetables. I have learned those with diabetes,  must be careful about the type of carbs and amounts of fats he eats. If you eat the right carbs you will not be eating snack and junk foods. What can one eat as a substitute to combat our bad food cravings? Continue reading “Why ‘Low Glycemic’ Foods Are Healthiest”

Green Tea May Help Protect Against Rheumatoid Arthritis

As I’ve revealed earlier, I drink organic Japanese green tea. I buy loose leaf and brew it by the pot from scratch every morning. That’s the best way, much better than tea bags. And, I think it has worked wonders when I stray and eat the wrong thing (holidays, birthdays, etc.) and suffer from bouts of inflammation soon after. ‘Automatically Maintaining’ Weight Loss Without Counting Calories

What’s next after you trim down? I didn’t realize I would become more sensitive to how food affected me. My wife was intuitive about that she should eat ‘broccoli’ every day.

I realized I needed to eat more of something too. It was ‘kale’. You will ‘sense’ what you need to eat more of after eating plant-based whole food a while. You become increasingly ‘sensitive’ to what you should and shouldn’t eat.

“My weight is automatically maintained at what I weighed in high school. How? I ‘stick to’ a plant-based whole food diet. Why? It is low protein, high carbohydrate and low fat. This is our most natural diet” ~ your author

I observed eating brown rice with soy milk with honey at night caused me acid reflux. It wasn’t super painful, but I knew something was wrong. It was the honey. Honey is acid. Rice also is, but when I eat rice with soy milk and no sweetener like honey, it doesn’t cause acid reflux. So, now I use stevia.

‘Stevia is a natural-origin sweetener that is increasing the options for reduced sugar and reduced energy foods and beverages. Stevia shows promise as a tool to help lower energy intakes, which may lead to the reduction and prevention of obesity [1 ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4890837/]’.

Even though raw uncooked honey is natural, it is still acidic. Because of its acidity, it tends to also cause cavities.

High fructose corn syrup is the most ‘un-healthful’ sweetener of all. Your liver doesn’t know what to do with it. It can cause cardiovascular problems and you may develop the inflammatory nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

They put HFCS in almost everything it seems because it’s so cheap. Eat resistant starch foods like beans, rice and potatoes. These keep you satisfied for hours and you never have to count calories. If you get hungry later with that ‘sweet tooth’, try eating whole fruit.
