Foods that Cause Inflammation

You might be losing weight, but also may be suffering from inflammation. But, what is inflammation? The subject can fill an entire library. There are foods that I avoid that will cause inflammation in me. Maybe, it’s doing the same to you, like mysterious aches and pains the next day after you eat something you knew you shouldn’t.

And, since you are here, there are likely foods that are causing you similar problems. For example, I have had several bouts of Gout and Rheumatoid Arthritis through the years. I didn’t even know why I was ailing so. I thought stuff like that only affected eighty year olds!

Pain is a great motivator. If we are feeling good, why change our habits, right? You might be in pain, and not know why. A common cause is from inflammation. You could very well be victim of an autoimmune condition and not know what to do about it.

Maybe, you have gone to different doctors and none of them can figure out what’s wrong with you. You could be at your wits end on the verge of giving up. Well, don’t call it quits or abandon ship quite yet.

My big toe hurt terribly and I thought it was fault of my work boots. I felt achy all over and didn’t know why. I had pains in my joints of my hands and didn’t have a clue what it was. I didn’t find out until many years later, it was due to the foods I ate. But, it isn’t easy changing our eating habits…

Inflammation Hurts!

Inflammation can be excruciatingly painful. I have learned what to eat to keep inflammation under control. How I eat is called Vegetarian or Vegetarianism. It’s a whole food plant based diet. But, it isn’t your traditional vegetarian diet. Yes, I eat primarily fruits and vegetables, but only certain ones in either limited and unlimited quantities. Even vegetarians can eat meals which can be the cause of their inflammation.

Doctors themselves have trouble pinpointing what is causing many ailments, conditions and diseases. As a layman, it can make your head spin and run you around in circles and put you back where you started in your search for a relief, remedy or cure. I have found that what I eat makes the difference between feeling good or suffering chronic pain.

Here’s what I personally avoid Eating and Drinking…

  • Alcohol (especially Grain Alcohol and Beer. This includes Wine)
  • Caffeine (Yes, Coffee and Tea)
  • Sugar (Candy, Chocolate, and especially High Fructose Corn Syrup)
  • No Oil and all Fatty Foods (Yes, even Olive Oil and not cooking with any so called healthy oils like Canola and Sunflower Oil and all others)
  • Soy
  • Salt (use sparingly to taste)
  • Dairy
  • Eggs
  • Meat
  • Grains (like Wheat and Corn, even all the others. This includes Cereal and Oats. Yes, it’s the Gluten. All grains have their own form of Gluten, a protein)
  • All Processed Food (anything that comes in a bottle, bag, can, box and package. Sorry, snacks are high in sugar, salt and oil and a host of other ingredients you can’t even pronounce
  • Limit eating Nuts and Seeds (Lectins can irritate the lining of the small intestine)
  • Watch the Nightshade Vegetables (like Tomatoes, Eggplant, Potatoes and Peppers)
  • List_of_Acid-Alkaline_Forming_Foods

The Majority of Doctors don’t know how important Nutrition actually is

Many doctors are not trained in nutrition. So, it’s no surprise that when you ask some of them how much diet matters, they tend to downplay its importance. I learned through my own research and study how to contain my own painful symptoms without medication or prescription drugs. I have discovered what I eat can make me sick or keep me healthy. Even medications such as antibiotics and daily stress can trigger inflammation.

There are certain triggers that can cause autoimmune diseases. If you are in pain, it is there to tell you that you’re doing something wrong. There are those in the medical profession who believe inflammatory conditions, can be alleviated through diet. They believe that if you eat a whole food plant based diet, you can avoid or prevent many ailments, diseases and conditions. I have found through my own experience diet not only helps me lose weight and keep it off, it saved my health.

Where Inflammation can Begin its Insidious Journey

Leaky Gut Syndrome is where undigested food, Yeast, Viruses and Bacteria can pass through the intestinal lining and get into your bloodstream to wreak havoc throughout your body. The gut is meant to be the barrier these kinds of things cannot get through. This breach can happen when the gut has been damaged or compromised. Eating harmful food can damage your gut. It has been said that death begins in the Colon.
