How to lose weight in a week: Here’s what to eat…

You know you want to keep any weight off you lose. But, with ‘fad diets’, this will never happen. Losing weight and gaining it back is an unhealthy roller coaster ride.

We also don’t want highs and lows in blood sugar over time. To break the food addiction and junk food cycle we must find healthy food substitutes!

You will notice people who live the longest are the ‘slim’ ones. I’ve discovered how to lose weight in a week, month and especially over a year’s time. I lost almost fifty pounds in one year. In the process, I also lost my beer belly.

Figure a conservative weight loss of about a 'pound a week' on a whole food plant based diet. This could add up to nearly five pounds a month, possibly more.

What I eat is low calorie food. These foods are also relatively low carb. You don’t want to lose weight the unhealthy way. We want healthy weight loss.

Although, you need enough calories to function right, you also require fiber and nutrients. There are no worries when you adopt a whole food plant based diet.

There are endless recipes on the internet, and I also have a few to offer. We can spice our food and add a little salt and pepper.

If we don’t make our food taste good, we won’t stick to eating it. But, hold the OIL. Don’t cook with it or drizzle it on your salad. No matter what they say, OIL is not a ‘health food’!

There are staple foods particular to each society. I have done my own research into this and have found my favorites to be brown rice, potatoes and pinto beans.

I always add these to my main meals supplementing fruits like mangoes, bananas, oranges and a variety of berries like strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. I include a large green salad for lunch. If I don’t eat another for dinner, I steam broccoli and bok choy for about five minutes together.

Brown rice is the only grain I eat. I avoid all wheat products and most grains in general (sorry, this includes corn, too.) Let’s go shopping! Download your new shopping list!

Note- always consult your doctor before you change your diet. If you are obese and want to lose weight, doing so will surely increase your life span. Yet, obesity is a medical condition requiring professional help.
