I like to pass on what I’ve learned. When I eat something wrong that makes me feel poorly, I ask myself, ‘where’s my doctor’? By this I mean, where are those health professionals who tell me what is healthy to eat and not?
‘One physician will say one thing while another will disagree saying the opposite. It’s no wonder we aren’t more confused’
On TV and the internet health authorities reveal what they think is healthy. But, there’s this one who says to use plenty of EVOO each week. Coincidentally, he sells it online for about three times as much as it costs at your local store (and, that doesn’t include shipping.)
It is said some of the major brands ‘dilute’ it with other cheaper oils. But, he says his has more polyphenols than others. Yet, you can get your ‘polyphenols’ from eating red or purple grapes and olives. You really don’t need the oil.
‘Mono unsaturated and saturated fat oils damage our endothelium (which is the inner lining of arteries.) This can lead to cardiovascular disease. We don’t want to have a heart attack or stroke in the future do we ’?
I listened to this particular doctor’s advice testing the effects of olive oil on my body once again. With so much conflicting information out there about health, you have to learn to listen to your body first.
Furthermore, whenever I eat a bag of chips I get painful inflammation. These have a variety of refined oils high in Omega 6. When I drizzled olive oil on salads or popcorn I got inflammation and had difficulty breathing.
What I no longer eat and drink…
- No wheat, barley, rye, oats
- Processed and refined food
- Hot sauce, pepper and salsa
- I keep nuts and seeds to a minimum
- No alcohol
My basic everyday diet…
- Fried oil-less potatoes, onions, mushrooms and green pepper
- Berries like blackberries, blueberries and strawberries
- Vegetable soup
- 2 large green salads with seeds
- 1 green smoothie
- Filtered water with lemon
- Japanese green loose leaf tea
- Hummus and celery as a snack
