As you may know, I experiment with health effects of healthy and unhealthy food. Isn’t life just one big experiment anyway? I tend to think so. Nonetheless, there is no instruction booklet that comes with you when born. Boy, wouldn’t it be nice if there was one showing us all the pitfalls and ways to success and happiness!
Unfortunately, I only came up with a new recipe for a salad dressing, not answers to all the big questions philosophers dwell upon. My new dressing has simple ingredients you might already have or may want to pick up at your local grocery store. Nevertheless, these are all common ingredients. I hope you like it.
Here’s how I do my Sesame Oil Balsamic Vinegar Salad Dressing Recipe…
- Get a small plastic container with lid
- Measurement is made by taste and eye
- Add balsamic vinegar
- A bit of jalapeno hot sauce
- Same amount of water to thin it out
- Shake onion powder
- 5-6 drops ‘or more’ of sesame oil
- Pinch of garlic powder
- Twist of ground pepper
- Stir it with a fork
- You can add sesame seeds (and/or others) on salad later
A prime part of my diet is salad. I always make sure I eat 1-2 huge salads each day. My dressing was balsamic with extra virgin olive oil, but there’s so much controversy about EVOO I stopped using it. Yet, more important than this, I felt the effects of olive oil as pains in my chest and back. A coming heart attack? I didn’t want to find out, so I quit using the oil.
‘Over all the hype about olive oil (even though I love EVOO) I learned to listen to my body first and foremost. And, the pains in my chest and back even with using only a tablespoon full told me to quit using it…’
I have written many posts about so called pros (and, also cons) about olive oil you may want to read, here. Furthermore, I have been using it as an experiment on myself for a more than a few months now.
Everywhere one turns, he hears olive oil is healthy. But, I disagree. Many reputable medical doctors and research studies strongly indicate it isn’t good for your cardiovascular system at all.
Despite writing numerous posts and research I’ve done, there still lingers that speck of doubt. I enjoyed the flavor of EVOO drizzled on salads, popcorn and how it made fried potatoes, green peppers, onions and mushrooms taste.
But, as we found out there’s many foods tasting really good which aren’t beneficial to our health. Plant based whole food is like good medicine while processed and refined food may eventually cause ailments, conditions and disease.
Note- consult your doctor before you change your diet.
