Vegetarianism

What is Vegetarianism? It’s not as bad word. It’s not a form of government, a cult, and it’s not weird. It’s more a lifestyle than how one eats. It leads to better health, weight loss and likely a longer life.

You eat all the fruit and vegetables you want. It’s a combination of cooked and raw. You never go hungry. You leave the table feeling full because you don’t reduce the portions of food you eat.

Vegetarianism is the term describing how I eat. But, it’s without all the salt, sugar and fats found in processed food. You do use salt and sugar to taste, but you do limit it. I don’t drizzle Olive oil on my salads or cook with oil. I don’t use any oil. Oil no matter what kind is not healthy at all, no matter how often they say it is…

Vegetarian Recipes abound

It’s fun finding new recipes, because there’s endless things you can make to eat. Although, I eat very simple foods, I like to find a new recipe every now and then. I am content with eating the same things nearly every day. For example, I found a recipe for Twice Baked Potatoes. It is easy to make, filling and tasty. I also have a vegetarian chili recipe. These are my all time favorites. You will have your own.

As I said before, I do eat simply. The healthiest people on the face of this earth eat simply. The food doesn’t taste bland, because you can add spices and a dash of salt and pepper to taste. I don’t overdo the spices, though.

Did I say I love Potatoes?

Personally, I love Potatoes about the best. I make Brown Rice and eat green salads and make my own salad dressing. I eat fruit in the morning and beans and rice for lunch. Whenever I crave carbs or sweets, I eat fruit.

This is not the easiest thing to do when you were brought up on processed foods rich in sugar, salt and oils. I do occasionally fall off the wagon and eat what I know I shouldn’t…

It’s kind of an ongoing struggle, especially if you are tempted to eat something wrong because you have those in your household who don’t believe in what you are doing. Don’t preach, because it won’t work. Live by example, they will catch on to it, eventually.

Sooner or Later, They’ll get Hooked

Little by little, they will get the idea and start adopting those things you are eating. You’ll see. It’s the subtle approach that works. People are touchy about their food. Let them learn on their own that diet can change your health for the better and make you lose weight at the same time. They will see you looking better, feeling better and slimming down. And, they will want that for themselves, too.
