Why be Vegetarian? How about weight loss, better health and longer life…

So, why be vegetarian? Good question worthy of an intelligent answer from one who has been one for more than a few years. There are three reasons I adopted a whole food diet: continued health, longevity and weight loss. I know that eating the way I used to, doesn’t work. But, I am fallible. That’s because I am human and live with those who don’t support my way of eating. There’s temptation all around me.

Good nutrition is not just Protein, Carbs and Fat found in way too large amounts in the typical American diet. It’s the micronutrients in fruits and vegetables that does us good. Organic produce has all the ingredients in the proper amounts like nature intended to lose unwanted pounds, keep them off, and get healthier and stay that way. And yes, there is enough Protein in fruits and vegetables to sustain good health

And, I am reminded of that when I fall off the wagon and begin eating that way again for any continued amount of time. I end up with bouts of Gout and Rheumatism. Pain is a great motivator to change ones ways. But, you probably have other ailments or conditions than I do. The vegetarian lifestyle change eventually cures them all, including diseases.

Thin People aren’t necessarily Healthy, either

Although, skinny people aren’t necessarily healthy, people who are overweight usually aren’t, at all. You don’t need to diet to lose weight, because diets don’t work. It’s a lifestyle change that works. Nothing else will.

Yet, diet doesn’t do it all. We need exercise, or at least staying physically active,  to get out into the sun, hobbies, friends, family, etc. But, this site is not about anything except diet and losing weight vegetarian. Common sense must be your leader in life.

You will learn to love your new food and look forward to every meal. It will begin to taste like your food. Not at first, though. It will take time to adapt to like anything else that’s truly worthwhile in life. It’s not easy, but it’s not hard, either. You will know by how you feel and that your body will thank you.

Note- consult your doctor before you change your diet.
